Meet Our Team

Dr. Thomas Lamar

KINGSTON CHIROPRACTOR

What do snow cones and chiropractic have in common? Nothing, really—unless of course you are talking about me. 🙂
At the age of 14, I tried to lift a snow cone machine from an awkward, bent-over position. Bad idea.

Immediately, I felt something slide in my lower back. It didn’t hurt, though… until the next day while playing football.

The quarterback fired a pass my way. As I caught the football—absorbing its speed into my abdomen—it happened. My lower back exploded into excruciating, disabling pain. After seeking medical care, I learned to live with the medical doctor’s diagnosis of “strained back.”

With my sights set on a medical career, I attended the University of California, Riverside. I studied the basic sciences of biology, chemistry, and physics, along with physiology and anatomy courses. In my junior year, however, I decided to opt out of the premed training and seek an alternative heath care profession.

Good thing. Because after lifting a Christmas tree, my back went out again. This time, I decided to see a chiropractor for help. Little did I know it would be life changing. If there ever was a chiropractic “miracle adjustment” to be had, I got it. And after that adjustment, chiropractic became more than a professional option—it became a passion to pursue.

After completing my studies at UCR, I was accepted at the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic. Courses there included biochemistry, a major emphasis on anatomy and human physiology, spinal biomechanics, X-ray, diagnosis, chiropractic adjusting techniques, and patient care in the clinic. A 1995 graduation had me ready to offer my skills to the North Kitsap County community.

As much as I learned in those eight years of advanced schooling, the twenty-five-plus years afterward in practice have taught me the most about the human body and how it responds to chiropractic. The truth is that your body was designed to be healthy and strong throughout the entire course of your life—even at eighty, ninety, a hundred years and beyond.

Give our office a call, or email us using the contact tab in the menu above. I’d love to hear about your ‘snow cone story.’

Maria

CHIROPRACTIC ASSISTANT

Hello, my name is Maria, and since 2001 I have been a Chiropractic Assistant here at Anchor Chiropractic. I was first introduced to chiropractic while working in the dental field many years ago. Having chiropractic in those early years helped me tremendously, so when the opportunity came up to work for Dr. Lamar, I was excited.

My husband, daughters, granddaughter, and I enjoy working on our small farm, gardening, raising our own food, and riding horses. Having regular chiropractic care in all our lives enables us to live the lifestyle we love.

For over 18 years I have had the unique opportunity of seeing so many patients, young and old, have their lives changed for the better with chiropractic. I have seen how it helps their bodies get well and function better as part of a lifestyle. Because of my first hand experience, I try to educate as many people as I can about its benefits.

At Anchor Chiropractic we are a big family of families… individuals and couples …with a desire to live active, healthy, long lives—naturally. I encourage you to see how chiropractic care, through the 100 Year Lifestyle, can help you and your family do the same.

Claire

CHIROPRACTIC ASSISTANT

Hi Everyone! My name is Claire. I am Dr. Lamar’s 3rd eldest. I started working behind the front desk in the summer of 2020. However, I have been working behind the scenes since 2017 keeping the office clean and shiny. 🙂

When I’m not helping our patients at the office, I enjoy playing my violin and reading lots of books. I love being outside hiking and caring for my family’s many animals.

The human body has the amazing ability to adapt and self-heal. Chiropractic optimizes that innate ability. When our bodies are able to adapt to the highest degree, each of us can truly thrive and confidently meet all the stress and curve-balls of life. It excites me when our patients are able to live the lives they want to live as the health of their spine and nervous systems are optimized through chiropractic care.

I look forward to helping you!

Molly

CHIROPRACTIC ASSISTANT

Hello! My name is Molly and I have been behind the front desk since the autumn of 2020, but along with my older sister, Claire, I have been behind the scenes cleaning the office since 2017.

As my dad, Dr. Lamar, has adjusted me since birth, chiropractic is a part of my life. With consistent care I have been able to recover quickly from falling off a horse and am able to continue playing my musical instruments (the violin, organ, and ukulele) with strength and agility. I enjoy exploring and trying new things and learning Japanese.

I can’t wait to meet you! And I look forward to rooting for you as you live your 100 Year Lifestyle!

Logan

MARKETING/REMOTE IT (AND CHIROPRACTIC STUDENT)

Hi! I’m Logan—before you ask, yes, Dr. Lamar’s second eldest child (Claire and Molly are my little sisters). Some of you may remember me at the front desk, but now I’m currently in charge of social media and this website and making sure all of our back-end computer systems run smoothly so we can deliver top-notch care to you!

I graduated from The Master’s University in 2023 with my B.S. in Biological Sciences, and immediately went straight into chiropractic college! I am currently slated finish the Doctor of Chiropractic program at Life University in December 2026. I plan to join forces with my dad at Anchor Chiropractic as a full-fledged chiropractor as soon as I’m wrapped up here, so stay tuned.

The late Dr. Reggie Gold once said, “Life should be like a candle…burn brightly until the end, flicker once or twice and go out.” Not one person should be forced to live pill to pill, procedure to procedure in the final years of their life, dimming away until what’s left of their candle finally dies. What each of us must realize is the lifestyle choices we make today and every day directly influence our quality of life tomorrow. I’m studying with this goal in mind: to be able to help keep your candle burning brightly to eighty, ninety, a hundred years and beyond. Can’t wait to meet you as the new Dr. Lamar!
